In July 2023, Fork and Field had the pleasure of providing catering in Manchester for Channel 4’s exclusive sales event at the iconic Band on The Wall. Known for its rich cultural history and vibrant music scene, the venue provided the perfect backdrop for this energetic and dynamic evening. Channel 4 entrusted us, the expert event caterers in Manchester, with the task of delivering a culinary experience that complimented the venue’s iconic style.
We were thrilled to collaborate with Channel 4 on this exciting city centre event. We created an array of canapés and substantial bites, ideal for the 70 guests in attendance to enjoy whilst mingling and networking. It was a night of modern flavours, where we’d carefully crafted each element with the event theme in mind.

Moreish Canapés
For this sales event, we felt that canapés were the perfect option. These convenient, bite-sized dishes allowed guests to continue chatting, whilst still enjoying delicious food. Canapés are ideal for food for corporate events, where guests are constantly on the move.
Our team of event caterers designed and served a menu filled with variety and flavour, from the savoury Crispy Asian Duck with Tangy Hoisin Dressing, Chili, and Scallion to the vegetarian-friendly Whipped Goat’s Cheese on Thyme Roasted en Croûte with Beetroot and Walnut Crumb. The latter offered a creamy, earthy experience with a satisfying crunch, while the bold flavours of the duck paired with the hoisin dressing and fresh chilli provided an exotic taste sensation.
Other guest favourites included our Pork Belly with Bourbon Whiskey Glaze and Crushed Apple, where the sweetness of the glaze paired perfectly with the tangy apple, and the Tandoori Chicken Skewers served with a sweet and spicy mango and chilli dipping sauce.
Serving canapés meant that no guest went hungry, whilst still maintaining the elegant and vibrant atmosphere of the event, where socialising and networking were absolutely key.
Substantial Bites
Alongside our canapés, guests were also treated to a selection of substantial bites, ensuring that everyone at the event had plenty of hearty options to enjoy throughout the evening. These larger dishes complemented the canapés by offering more filling choices, perfect for guests looking to grab a quick bite while continuing to chat to other attendees.
Our Buffalo Chicken Wraps with Spicy Sriracha Sauce were a favourite for guests who love a bit of heat. The juicy buffalo chicken filling provided the perfect balance of savoury and spicy, while the sriracha sauce added a fiery kick. This dish worked well in the lively atmosphere, offering guests a more substantial yet easily portable option.
For our vegetarian guests, the Mini Bruschetta with Bocconcini, Diced Red Onion and Tomato, and Pesto Dressing provided a fresh and tasty bite. The creamy bocconcini combined with the sweetness of the tomato and the flavoursome pesto made for a light yet satisfying choice.
The Charcuterie Cones, filled with premium cured meats, were a visually appealing option ideal for those craving something savoury. Ideal for guests enjoying drinks and conversations, these cones allowed for easy, mess-free eating whilst still delivering rich flavours and textures.
Our Beef Sliders with Lettuce, Tomato, and Tomato Salsa were a guest favourite (as they usually are!). Juicy and packed with flavour, these sliders were a filling option that attendees could enjoy on the go. For guests who preferred meat-free alternatives, our Goat’s Cheese Sliders with Lettuce, Beetroot, and Honey Dressing hit the spot. The creamy goat’s cheese paired with the earthy sweetness of beetroot and honey created a balanced flavour profile that was impossible to resist, making it a favourite amongst meat eaters and veggies alike.
