It was a pleasure for our team to deliver catering for the Glossop & High Peak Business Awards at Glossop Market Hall, supporting an evening dedicated to celebrating local business, ambition and achievement.

Welcoming around 200 guests, the event brought together professionals from across the region for a night of recognition, connection and well-earned celebration within one of Glossop’s most characterful spaces.

We were proud to cater for this event at Glossop Market Hall. The newly refurbished space lends itself beautifully to events of this kind, creating an atmosphere that feels both vibrant and community-focused, while offering a well-considered setting for a large-scale awards evening.

Delivering a Smooth Awards Evening Experience

Events like this require careful coordination to ensure the evening flows naturally between arrival, dining and the awards programme.

Guests were welcomed from 6.30pm with a drinks reception, choosing from prosecco, sparkling elderflower or bottled beer as they arrived. This created a relaxed and sociable start to the evening, allowing guests to settle into the space before taking their seats for dinner.

With a clear event schedule in place, our team worked to ensure food service was delivered within a defined window ahead of the awards beginning later in the evening, maintaining a steady and well-paced experience throughout.

A Three-Course Menu for a Large Guest List

For the seated dinner, our chefs prepared a three-course menu designed to be served efficiently across 200 guests while maintaining consistency, quality and presentation.

Guests began with a roasted red pepper and heritage tomato soup, finished with crème dressing and fresh basil oil, served alongside a warm bread roll and butter.

For the main course, the majority of guests enjoyed a 14-hour slow cooked beef dish, served with horseradish creamed potato, parsnip purée, honey glazed root vegetables, charred onion and a rich red wine jus.

A sweet potato and kale pie was provided as the vegetarian option, ensuring a balanced and thoughtful alternative for those with dietary preferences.

To finish, guests were served sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce, vanilla bean ice cream, cinder toffee shards and fresh strawberry. Lemon cheesecake with berry compote was prepared for guests with dietary requirements, offering a lighter option to conclude the meal.

Throughout the dinner, wine service was provided at the table, alongside water service, allowing guests to enjoy the meal comfortably as the evening progressed.
